·        Principles of control and direction of master streams:

            1.            Never direct water at smoke

            2.            Use caution not to collapse parapets, coping stones, chimneys, etc.

            3.            Stay cognizant of water buildup on roofs, inside buildings, etc.

            4.            Use caution when working around brick or stone veneer

            5.            Listen for sounds of effectiveness:

                        5.1            “Splattering” (brick) or “drumming” (wood) = striking the wall

                        5.2            Distant “rumbling” = stream is in window

            6.            Stay out of collapse zone

            7.            Renovated buildings with all partitions removed can cause stream to collapse rear wall
